Many candidates aspiring to take admission and their parents too are often unaware of the admission process for Diploma and B. Tech. programs. The total number of seats in the state is more than 10000. One must also know what certificates are mandatory for admission in such programs in Jharkhand. Before applying for such programs, one should personally gather information about in institutions from reliable sources and visit the organization for verification. For admission in any technical course, any interested candidate has to follow following steps:
- Fill up the application form online and apply to Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (J.C.E.C.E.B.) Jharkhand to appear in the entrance examination. The application form is advertised by J.C.E.C.E.B., Jharkhand generally in the second half of March and First half of April. While filling up online application, online payment is also to be made which different for general and reserved category candidates.
- One must appear in the entrance examination conducted by Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (J.C.E.C.E.B.) Jharkhand as per the schedule. The admit cards can be downloaded or the concerned office may be contacted otherwise.
After the result is announced, the schedule for counseling, which is based on merit list is published in the newspapers. Earlier, the candidates had to be physically present with all required original documents to appear in the counseling. But, since 2019 the counseling process has also been made online. One can participate in the online counseling process from anywhere and submit the preference for institution and course. Online payment of Rs. 1000 (Rupees One Thousand Only) must be made which will be refunded if you take admission or will be ceased by J.C.E.C.E.B. if the candidate doesn't take admission after being selected for admission.- As per the schedule, one can take the print of the allotment letter for admission.
- You can take the allotment letter to the institution of your choice within the deadline for admission.
The same process is followed for two different categories of admissions in diploma program:
- Admission in the First Year (3 - year program for 10th pass candidates)
- Admission in Second Year (2 - year program for I. Sc. (Maths) and ITI pass students). This scheme is also called Lateral Entry Scheme.
The eligibility criteria for selection and admission, required documents for admission/counseling, examination and counseling dates/process etc. are decided by the State Government and finally implemented through J.C.E.C.E.B. The fee structure of the technical courses offered by the concerned institutions vary and is decided by the Fee Fixation Committee (FFC) of the State Government. This is applicable for all Technical institutions including private institutions. The reservation policy for admission in technical institutions are also implemented by the Government of Jharkhand. Scholarships are available to the enrolled students from the welfare and minority departments of the state and other sources including AICTE. The students who get admission in the institute under Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme don't need to pay tuition fee.
